Jason & Amy Out of Office at a Agency & Property Manager Event

Jason & Amy Out of Office: Connecting, Learning and Sharing at the South West Agency & Property Manager Event

This Wednesday, 8th October, both Jason and Amy will be out of the office attending a dedicated event for agencies and property managers in the South West — a gathering designed to share ideas, insights, and innovations that directly impact how we manage and market your holiday homes.

Hosted at The Forge, Winslade Park in Exeter, this event brings together some of the most experienced and influential voices in the short-let and holiday rental industry. It’s being organised by Key Data, PASC UK (Professional Association of Self-Caterers), and SuperControl — three organisations that play a huge role in shaping the future of holiday letting in the UK.

What’s the event all about?

This day is focused on collaboration, data, and practical improvements — not just theory. Sessions will explore how the market is evolving, what new tax and regulatory changes mean for holiday lets, and how property managers like us can continue to simplify operations while maximising bookings and owner returns.

It’s a rare opportunity to connect with others who also live and breathe this industry, share best practices, and bring back fresh ideas that directly benefit our owners, guests, and the business as a whole.

Who’s involved

We’ll be in very good company throughout the day. Speakers and contributors include:

  • Alistair Handyside (PASC UK) – covering the latest tax and regulatory updates that affect the sector.

  • Sally Henry (Key Data) and James Weatherby – diving into market performance trends and data specifically for Devon.

  • Aaron Thornton (Booking.com) – sharing insights on how to unlock more revenue and visibility through booking platforms.

  • Richard Vaughton (Yes Consulting) – leading an always-lively discussion on whether technology is helping or hindering operations.

  • Tom Chartres-Moore (Stephens Scown LLP) – challenging conventional thinking with his talk on “Why you shouldn’t have T&Cs…”.

  • Plus a panel of industry leaders exploring the “big issues” currently facing property managers and agencies across the region.

These sessions are followed by plenty of opportunities for networking, idea sharing, and a good cup of coffee or two.

Why we’re attending

Events like this are essential for staying ahead of the curve — understanding new legislation, exploring smarter tools, and ensuring we continue to provide the best service and results for our owners and guests.

It’s also a chance to strengthen our partnerships with the organisations that power much of what we do behind the scenes — from booking software and pricing data to compliance advice and market benchmarking.

You can be confident that we’ll return with insights that help Devon Holidays continue to grow, adapt, and deliver an even stronger, more resilient business for everyone involved.

A quick note on contact during the day

While Jason and Amy will be away from their desks on Wednesday, the rest of the team will be on hand as usual to help with any urgent matters. Emails will still be monitored, but replies from Jason and Amy may take a little longer than usual until they’re back on Thursday.

We look forward to sharing what we’ve learned in our next update — it’s shaping up to be an inspiring day full of conversation, innovation, and a shared passion for creating exceptional guest and owner experiences across the South West.
