This week we are delighted to celebrate Amy’s first anniversary with Devon Holidays.
Reaching the one-year milestone is always something special, but Amy’s first year has certainly been one to remember.
In fact, it was only Amy’s second day during her induction when Finlake Resort experienced the large water leak incident that lasted nearly two weeks. For many people, that would have been a daunting way to begin a new role. However, Amy approached the situation with calmness, determination and a willingness to learn quickly — qualities that have become hallmarks of her work over the past year.
A Role That Wears Many Hats
Amy plays a key role within Devon Holidays, managing the day-to-day relationships with guests, property owners and suppliers. This means no two days are ever quite the same.
From helping guests enjoy their stay, to coordinating with suppliers, and supporting property owners, the role requires flexibility, patience and organisation.
Over the past year Amy has had to wear many hats, spin many plates and master the art of juggling multiple responsibilities — all while keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
And much like the saying of the “swan gliding gracefully across the water while paddling furiously beneath the surface”, Amy has handled these challenges with professionalism and composure.
The Value of Local Knowledge
One of Amy’s greatest strengths is her local knowledge of the area and strong connections within the community.
This has proven invaluable when supporting guests, working with the resort team and coordinating with local suppliers. Being able to draw on those local relationships helps ensure that problems are solved quickly and guests have the best possible experience during their stay.
