We are pleased to share some positive news for all holiday property owners working with Devon Holidays. Following many weeks of collaboration with SuperControl, we can now confirm that the automated invoicing system and owner portal should finally be operating as intended.
After a significant effort involving workshops and technical testing, SuperControl’s back-end team is now in the process of replicating the fixes across all bookings from June 2025 onwards.
What Was the Problem?
The root cause of the issue was data discrepancies from Booking.com and Airbnb reservations. Specifically, the financial data imported from these platforms wasn’t transferring correctly into SuperControl.
When we receive payments from Booking.com, we are shown:

The full amount paid by the guest
-
Less Booking.com’s commission
-
Less their payment handling fee
The remaining balance is what we actually receive into Devon Holidays’ bank account. However, the figures in SuperControl were not accounting for these deductions correctly. The system showed the full guest amount rather than the net payout figure, meaning owners were being paid based on inflated amounts.
Unfortunately, this discrepancy led to overpayments and has cost Devon Holidays several thousand pounds over the last sixteen months.
Another knock-on effect was confusion within the owners’ portal. The amounts visible to property owners didn’t always match the real banked figures, which understandably raised questions and made accountancy processes more complicated for everyone involved.
What Has Changed?
With SuperControl’s fixes now in place, the following improvements will be active:

Automated invoicing is now accurately pulling through the net payment amounts, after commissions and fees.

The owners’ portal now reflects the real amounts paid and received, ensuring clarity and trust.

We are now inputting any additional expenses directly into SuperControl, so these show on your monthly statements and within the portal.

We will be sending out to everyone their login credentials to SuperControl, incase they have been forgotten, this will ensure you are set up for when the data set has been bulk uploaded by SuperControls back office teams.
