Signs of Recovery: A Positive Shift in Bookings

After a quieter-than-expected winter period, we’re starting to see some encouraging signs that demand is returning.

From November onwards, bookings experienced an unprecedented lull. This gave us valuable time to reflect on our approach, strengthen our positioning, and focus on improving visibility across all channels. While those months were undoubtedly challenging, the past few weeks have brought a noticeable and welcome shift.

A Stronger February

Between 1st–22nd February, we recorded 63 bookings covering 326 nights.

To put this into context:

  • January (full month): 47 bookings

  • February (previous full month): 52 bookings

Even with February only partially complete, we’ve already exceeded both figures. This is a clear indication that demand is beginning to pick up again.

Increased Enquiries & Channel Performance

One of the most positive developments has been the increase in enquiries via social media. We’re seeing significantly more direct engagement than before, which suggests our reach and awareness are improving.

That said, the booking channels remain consistent:

  • Booking.com continues to lead by a strong margin

  • Airbnb and Sykes are gradually increasing their share

This balanced growth across platforms is a positive sign for long-term stability.

Building Visibility Through Influencers

We’ve recently hosted two separate social media influencers, which we hope will further raise our profile. While it’s too early to measure the full impact, these collaborations are designed to increase awareness and drive new audiences to consider staying with us.

Improving Guest Feedback

We’ve also seen a noticeable improvement in sentiment on TripAdvisor, with more positive reviews being posted.

This is an area we’ve been actively focusing on:

  • Encouraging guests to leave feedback on TripAdvisor

  • Prompting reviews through their booking platforms

Stronger reviews not only enhance our reputation but also play a key role in influencing future bookings.

Looking Ahead

As of 23rd March 2026 onwards, we currently have:

  • 211 bookings in place

  • 3,119 nights secured

This gives us a solid base moving forward. However, there is still availability to fill, and the team is continuing to work hard to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings across all channels.

A Realistic but Positive Outlook

While there is still work to be done, the recent uplift in activity is a clear step in the right direction.

With:

  • Increased enquiry levels

  • Improving online reviews

  • Growing visibility through social media and partnerships
